Good Relations Week
18th Sep 2024
As part of Good Relations Week, P4 took part in an online session today organised by NI Libraries. We learned about the Japanese culture through stories told by Masako Casey.
We looked at Masako’s lovely bright kimono and learned it’s tied with 8 strings. She also showed use her traditional hair clips.
The children learned how to say hello in Japanese.
Most children decided that they were very thankful to be in school here instead of Japan as school starts early and after normal school lots of children go to an evening school and have to pack a dinner. Some even go to school on Saturday.
They also learned that Japanese schools don’t have cleaners as the children share out the roles and clean their own classrooms.
