P7 Practical Maths

17th May 2017

In P7 we made use of the good weather to do so practical maths outside.

We were given the task of finding the area and perimeter of the football pitch using 3 forms of measurement. We used a trundle wheel, a meter stick and our feet. We knew using our feet would be the least accurate form of measure but we wanted to explore how similar our 3 methods were.

After we recorded the length and breadth (or width) we then calculated the area and perimeter in the 3 ways mentioned. We then recorded all our groups' results on a spreadsheet and created bat graphs to compare the measurements.
