Primary 7 took part in a project with Buisness in the Community and Du Pont. The children were set the task of designing a car from recycled material that had to be powered by a ballon. The children continually modified their design to try and increase the distance their car travelled.
On Friday 13 May the children visited Du Pont and were shown around the factory. They then visited BEAM offices and had the opportunity to present their designs to a panel of judges. They then let their cars loose to see which car could travel the furthest. The judges looked at the delivery of the presentations, the design of the cars and the distance each car travelled. After a lot of deliberation the highland fling group were awarded 1st prize.
A special mention to Lisneal College who provided transport on the day for the children. Thus was really appreciated and very thoughtful of Lisneal.
