Winter Learning in Nursery

25th Jan 2019

The nursery children have really been enjoying learning all about winter this month.

We have learned all about the polar animals, how ice melts and how to keep warm.  We have even enjoyed some hot chocolate for snack!  Next week we are making some yummy vegetable soup!

We have veen very busy creating lots of beautiful winter artwork too, exploring new textures, creating patterns, using new mathematical language, solving floor puzzles, playing matching games and making bird feeders!  All the children have loved dressing up and using their imaginative skills at role play.

We have also started our Jo Jingles sessions and in PE we have been practising our throwing and catching skills!  In musical pathways we have been learning new songs and counting rhymes about penguins, icicles and robins.  At circle time, we have been developing our listening, attention and thinking skills as we listen to stories about winter and answer questions about our topic.
